Dr Lisiane Rivest, D.V.M
Originally from Témiscamingue, Dr Lisiane Rivest obtained her Veterinarian Doctorate Degree in the Spring of 2009. Having been hired full time in St-Eustache following her graduation, she then joined the team of the Piedmont Veterinarian Hospital in the Fall of 2009 as a replacement. With time, Dr Rivest progressively increased her availability and now offers veterinarian services full time as the sole veterinarian owner of the clinic. Dre Rivest loves the contact with her clients and wishes to promote their education so as to better guide them with their furry pets. Her interests are medicine, soft tissue surgeries and behavioral problems. Dr Rivest is the new owner of the clinic since August 2021.
Dr Valérie Desjardins, D.V.M
Dr. Desjardins graduated in 2005 from the University of Montreal. She has always practiced in the Laurentians. She is known for her listening skills, empathy, and ability to build a trusting relationship with her clients. She aims to practice proximity medicine and remain accessible. Her professional interests include cardiology, dermatology, ophthalmology, and geriatric medicine. She also offers first-line exotic pet care for small birds and small furry mammals. Dr. Desjardins divides her time between classical and complementary medicine. In fact, she provides specialized osteopathy and veterinary acupuncture care at home in the region. Above all, she strives to achieve her goal of offering personalized care for your animal, delivered through a holistic medical philosophy.
Dr Marianne Girard, D.V.M
Dr. Girard graduated from the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Montreal in 2004 and initially worked in an emergency center in Quebec City. She then enriched her knowledge and experience by living in Italy for six years, learning to speak Italian, and obtaining her veterinary license there. It was in Italy that her two sons were born, but she returned to Quebec in 2015. Originally from Mont-Tremblant, she settled in the Laurentians with her family and has been working at the Piedmont Veterinary Clinic since November 2023. Her interests in the field include preventive medicine and internal medicine, soft tissue surgery, simple ocular surgeries, and both simple and complex dentistry. Dr. Girard loves her small patients and enjoys sharing her knowledge with their owners to promote prevention and assist them in caring for their animals.
Dr Jacinthe Messier, D.V.M
Dr. Jacinthe Messier is a dedicated veterinarian and an integral part of the Piedmont Veterinary Clinic team. Having completed her studies alongside the clinic’s owner, she graduated in 2009 and has since devoted her carrer to caring for animals. Passionate about all aspects of veterinary medecine, she has a particular interest in surgery, excelling in this field through her precision and expertise. Her ability to combine technical skill with compassion makes her a key figure at the clinic, highly valued by both her colleagues and clients. Always attentive and caring, Dr. Messier embodies the values of dedication and care that define the Piedmont Veterinary Clinic’s reputation. Here she is with her adorable dog, Oakley.
Dr Christine Drolet, D.V.M
Dr. Drolet graduated from the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine at the Université de Montréal in 2010. She has been practicing in the Laurentians since then and has been part of our team since 2023. Christine has been an animal lover since a very young age, as well as a lover of medicine, which led her to choose this career path. Her professional interests include preventive medicine, internal medicine, and dermatology. Her gentle nature and attentive listening make her an excellent addition to the team. She has three cats and two dogs, with whom she enjoys hiking in the forest. In the summer, you can find her at racetracks in Quebec, Ontario, and the United States, as she has a passion for circuit motorsports!
Carolane, Animal Health Technician
Promoted as an Animal Health Technician in the Spring of 2021, Carolane joined the Piedmont team with great enthusiasm and desire to learn. She rapidly demonstrated her great potential and great ease to do her work impeccably. Despite her young experience, she holds the keys to becoming an outstanding technician: great listener, efficient, very pragmatic and great sensitivity to help our furry friends. She is particularly attracted to surgery, dentistry and medicine for exotics. She also maintains her passion for animal welfare on a daily basis at home with her two beautiful Border Collies: Jedi & Chewie!
Kasey, Animal Health Technician
Kasey graduated from Vanier College in 2018 and has been a part of our team since 2022. Born in Johannesburg, South Africa, she has been surrounded by animals her entire life. With her gentle nature and curiosity, she always knew she wanted to work with animals. Kasey brings a wide range of valuable skills to our clinic. She has a special interest in canine behavior and takes great pride in her technical abilities. Some clients may even recognize her from her time at Complexe Canin PsychoPattes! In her free time, she loves spending time outdoors and getting lost in a good book. Here she is with her loyal companion, Toxon!
Marie-Pier, Animal Health Technician
A 2018 graduate of Lionel-Groulx College, Marie-Pier began her career at the Septilienne clinic in Sept-Îles and then worked at the Accès Vet veterinary hospital in Blainville for a few years in the orthopedics department. We were lucky to have her join our team in 2023. She loves various surgeries and radiology. In her free time, you will find her hiking, spending time with her friends or enjoying the outdoors with her dogs!
Claudianne, Animal Health Technician administrative coordinator
Claudianne completed her Animal Health Technician program at Collège Lionel-Groulx in 2017. She has always shown a strong interest in learning new knowledge, and to this day, she continues to prioritize her ongoing professional development. Claudianne is dedicated to providing up-to-date and high-quality care and advice to clients. With her talent for simplifying complex information, she can clearly explain instructions and ensures that clients fully understand the recommendations and treatments to be followed. Claudianne enjoys surgical techniques and animal nutrition. Her many years of experience are a great asset to the clinic, and she loves sharing her technical tips with others. Her positive leadership is valuable and helps maintain strong cohesion within our team.
Lillian, Animal Health Technician
A graduate of Vanier College since 2017, Lillian has held various positions in research laboratories for eigth years, where she developped strong technical skills. Passionate about animals, she decided in 2022 to refocus her career on working directly in a veterinary clinic. She has a particular preference for the surgery department, where she finds great satisfaction in providing technical assistance and insuring precision during procedures. Lillian stands out for her professionalism, attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality care. She is constantly seeking to deepen her knowledge and enhance her skills. She plays a key role in supporting veterinarians during surgical procedures and postoperative care. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her dogs Finnegan and Gretchen.
Jacynthe, Animal Health Technician
A 2014 graduate of Collège Lionel-Groulx, Jacynthe gained her experience working at the Laurentie Veterinary Hospital for 10 years. Recently, she joined our team, and her passion, empathy, efficiency, and knowledge are invaluable assets. She has a keen interest in anesthesia and has completed several training courses in the field. Additionally, you may have the chance to meet her at the reception desk, where her smile and kindness will warmly welcome you and address your needs with care.
Cathy, Animal Health Technician
Graduating from Collège Lionel-Groulx in 2017, Cathy began her career working with less conventional animals, including sheep, miniature pigs, rabbits, and dogs. Since 2022, her journey has led her mainly to work with dogs and cats in a clinical setting, while maintaining a strong passion for miniature pigs. Welcomed to the team in July 2025, she particularly enjoys medical pre-consultations and customer service, where her empathy and communication skills truly shine. Outside of work, Cathy also offers behavior consultations for domestic pigs. Exotic animals hold an important place in her life and remain at the heart of her personal and professional interests. Here she is pictured with her two pig companions, Hazel and Ferdinand!
Louise, Animal Health Technician
Graduating in 2021, this former police officer chose to pursue a new career path after building a large family, with the goal of achieving a better work–life balance. Her diverse experience is reflected in her strong adaptability, excellent customer service skills, calm demeanor in high-pressure situations, and well-developed interpersonal abilities. A true large animal lover, she has owned Bernese Mountain Dogs, Maine Coons, and Canadian horses. In her spare time, she enjoys working out, road and mountain biking, reading, and of course, spending quality time with her six children.
Justine, Administrative Coordinator
Welcomed to the team in 2020 and passionate about animals, Justine is a great asset to our team. She demonstrates quality customer service expertise with team management skills, contributing to the clinic’s efficient operations and providing a positive workflow environment for everyone. Justine is always willing to learn new procedures and is always there to help the techniciens when needed. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her horse and at the farm.
Suzanne, Receptionist
Following a great career of 39 years at the Montreal airport, Suzanne joined our team. As a student, Suzanne worked at a veterinary clinic and loved it! Being so passionate about animals, she always said that one day she would retry the experience. Active and an outdoor enthusiast, it is important for Suzanne to make time to train, to cross-country ski and to snowshoe with her adorable dog, Cody. Tired of dealing with traffic every day, she wanted to reduce her travel time by working in the region. Since then, Suzanne has definitely been an asset to the team since 2015. She is dedicated to all of her loved ones, her colleagues, clients and patients!
Brigitte, Kennel Assistant
Brigitte is our little backstage busy bee! Rarely at the frontdesk, she is always somewhere taking care of a hospitalized animal or making sure no one is missing anything. Through her training in domestic animal care, in dog training and having an attestation from the MAPAQ, she is definitely an asset for the entire team. Having joined us in 2020 she does not regret working and being so close to her home. Dedicated to the wellbeing of our patients, she shows patience and great respect for the animals by methodically ensuring their well-being and comfort. She loves animals, nature and reading. If she is not working with us, she is probably gardening or walking with her beautiful dog Maëva!
Vanessa, Kennel Assistant
Vanessa joined our team full-time this year (2025), and we welcomed her with open arms. With 15 years of experience working independently with her own clientele, she has developed a sharp sense of listening, remarkable organizational skills, and many qualities that she now dedicates to caring for your four-legged companions. You can always count on Vanessa to keep the clinic well stocked and organized. She is there to comfort your animal after surgery or during a blood test, and without her, the clinic certainly wouldn’t be as clean as it is! She also has an exceptional ability to handle stressful situations with calm and efficiency. Her self-sufficiency and her passion for gardening in her free time perfectly reflect her philosophy: taking care of nature and what truly matters. Here she is with her hound, Ness.
Jimmy, Mascot
For 14 years, Jimmy, our feline mascot, has been an integral part of the Piedmont Veterinary Clinic. Adopted after being found as a stray, he quickly earned a special place in our hearts and in the hearts of our clients. With his calming presence and endearing personality, Jimmy embodies the spirit of our clinic : a place devoted to care, compassion, and love for animals. Far more than just a resident, he is a living symbol of the precious bonds we share with our four-legged companions. Jimmy holds a special place in our history and brightens our everyday lives.
